Jarkurgan minaret

   One of the historical monuments of Arab architecture in the period of the Bactrian kingdom in the area JARKO'RGO'N region is Jarkurgan minaret. Incidentally it is the only monument which preserved the name of the wizard who created it. It was built by Ali ibn Muhammad al-Sarakhs in the years 1108-1109 AD.
   His current height is 21.6 meters, diameter of 5.4 meters. Its original height of 40 meters. There are suggestions that it was not completed or alternatively destroyed.
